May 29, 1974 – Graduation Day for the Class of 1974.  Some of our classmates had graduated in January, including Karen Andreas Day and James Flieller. Anyone else?

March 10 –  A Japanese World War II soldier, Second Lieutenant Hiroo Onoda, surrenders in the Philippines, unaware that the war had ended some thirty years earlier
 
March 18– End of 1973 Arab Oil Embargo: Most OPEC nations end a 5-month oil embargo against the United States, Europe and Japan
 
April 4 -Hank Aaron ties Babe Ruth for the all-time home run record with his 714th at Riverfront Stadium in Cincinnati
